Of course, it wasn’t the glitzy, glamorous, princess ball like in Disney movies, but it was amazingly elegant!!
My dress was my FAV part of the evening! I'm not trying to sound conceited, I mean I looked awful, I had to do my own hair for crying out loud!! But my dress…to me..was breathless. I didn’t want to take it off!!!

Anyway…I had been looking forward to this night for months!! I missed the last 2 years of the ball because I was in a different state and it was just hard, but, this year was all mine!! So, needless to say, I had been looking for my dress for even longer!
Just as my wedding dress, I had found my ball gown online, I don’t remember the site now, but I had been searching through thousands of pictures, and when I finally came across the picture of mine…it was like a perfect moment..my world had stopped and all was quiet..for about 3 seconds anyway.

You know how all clothing stores have different sizes for their clothes, and when in one store you wear a certain size, but the same thing in another store its completely different?! Well, same thing happened to me. Never in my life had I had to buy anything more than a size maybe 4 in clothes…but this dress is a size 6!!! I don’t mean for this to sound bad.
But to make it funny, I was talking to my best friend, Ashton’s mom, Donna and her response to my unexpected new clothing sizes was, “Im telling you, marriage will do that!” Hhahaha I about died because my response back? “O my word! I hope not!! Its only been 3 months!!”
Okay, Im getting sidetracked again..before the ball, we met up with 3 other couples (guys in his unit and their wives) at a hotel to get ready.

When we finally got to the convention center where the ball was, it was already real crowded but we got a table to fit all of us and more. It started out with several different ceremonies and speakers:
National Anthem
Marine Corps Hymn
Sword Ceremonies
Guest of Honor Speech
Dedication for the fallen Marines
Cake Cutting
Honoring the youngest and oldest Marines present
Retiring of flags
After all the standing and sitting, they served us our meals. Which was surprisingly good! After that, there was dancing and socializing. Pretty fun night.
I cant wait to go back next year…o wait, only 1 year?! Ill have to start looking for a dress now!!
;)
God Bless,
Kevin & Evie
